New 4th -6th Grade
Youth Group!! Is
your child finishing 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade?
If so, we have just the fun for him or her!
A new youth group sponsored by Children's
Ministries, is being organized. We'll be throwing
a pizza party on Wednesday, June 18th immediately
following dismissal from VBS for all kids
in this age group. We hope we can have their
input on what they would like to do at our
gatherings. We also hope to come up with a
clever name! Mark your calendar for June 18th
as well as every 3rd Wednesday of each month
so your child can have fun and fellowship
here at church with a youth group designed
just for them.
Don't let the kids have all of the fun! Join
us on our Planning Team _ lead a game, teach
a craft, serve a snack, provide crowd control.
Come and be a part of this ministry for our
4th through 6th graders! For more information,
contact Nancy Tiernan or Kristin Coco through
the church office.

THE
DEACONS ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP
as they and the Elfinwild Pre-school co-sponsor
a cereal drive to benefit the food bank at
Calvert Church in Etna. Many of the families
serviced by the food bank have children who
receive free or reduced cost breakfast and
lunch at school. With school almost over for
this year, we would like to build up the cereal
supply at the food bank so more will be available
for the children for the summer months. Cereal
may be brought to the church and placed in
designated boxes in the back of the sanctuary
or by the chapel through May 18. Thank you
for your help.
PLEASE

inviting the Elfinwild congregation to attend
our annual Open House this Wednesday and Thursday,

“come alive” through our art work,
music, listening to books by certain authors,
and putting our creative talents into all
these special projects. This year we are featuring
the following stories about Max and Ruby,
creative hands in our museum, the Hungry Caterpillar,
how God made us special, and dinosaurs.

the Bible. Visit Moses as he parts the Red
Sea and receives “The Ten Best Ways

BOY
SCOUT & CUB SCOUT PACK 157
Please
check our website- http://www.Pack157.com
for additional information.
Check out
our website for all the latest news.
Elfinwild Presbyterian
Church is the Chartered Organization for Pack
157, but you do not have to be a member of
the Church to join or become a leader. All
are welcome to attend.
CUB SCOUTS PACK 157 has been sponsoring a
group of soldiers for the past 2 years. The
first group has returned from Iraq. Lieutenant
Grabowski has expressed what it meant to receive
letters and packages from the boys on a regular
basis. We have chosen another group of soldiers
to celebrate and care for while in Iraq, which
is a larger group. They have asked for reading
material, either new or gently used, including
magazines and news from "back home".
If you could help in anyway, it would be appreciated.
Please bring donation to church marked to
the attention of Jennifer Callahan. I attend
the 11:10 service and can check with the ushers
to see if any material was left. Call me at
412-492-8454 for large quantities that need
to be picked up. I will send a "Winter
Package" over the holidays and gladly
add your name to our list of supporters. Our
current group has almost 400 men and women,
so nothing is too little or too much for them
to share.
Thank you in advance for supporting our pack
efforts as well as the soldiers who fight
for each of us everyday.

Fellowship and Praise
Ministry
The Christians of the first century church,
"devoted themselves to the apostles teaching
and to the fellowship, to the breaking of
the bread prayer" Acts 3:42. They did
things together, praised God, interceded for
each other, and helped one another. We are
committed to all four of these, and one we
are looking forward to grow is intercessory
prayer for our church and community.
Prayer, individually and group, is essential
for a church to grow spiritually and to remain
in the will of God. This ministry must involve,
many persons, even those who feel uncomfortable
praying in groups. Part of our getting together
will be asking the Lord to guide and teach
us how to pray.
This ministry will meet the first
Sunday of each month at 6:00 PM in the sanctuary.
Prayer stimulates the spiritual life of the
church. If you have any questions call David
Frazier by calling Church Office 1-412-486-5400.
MEALS-ON-WHEELS NEEDS
Meals-On-Wheels needs volunteers to prepare
and deliver meals 5 days a week. Please call
Marian Berberich or Jean Cooper 412-486-8000
and volunteer. Once you start it becomes a
very important part of your life.
